Counselor II – Drug Resource Specialist

Provides a variety of drug and alcohol prevention, education and counseling services for students and families on school campus and as referred by the school. The Counselor II Drug Resource Specialist position requires knowledge of substance abuse prevention, experience working with youth, families and schools, counseling and case management skills, computer proficiency (Outlook, Word), organizational and planning skills, and excellent written and verbal skills. The incumbent must be able to work independently and as member of team. The incumbent must also be able to work closely with school staff while staying connected to CHS and the supervisor to successfully implement program objectives and develop strong, healthy, ongoing relationships with students and the school. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, psychology or social work and two years of experience working with youth, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to bilingual/bi-literate/bi-cultural candidates. A valid California driver’s license, auto insurance and CPR/First Aid certificate required.
Starting pay $3,308 – $3,646 month D.O.E. Additional 5% if Bilingual (E/S). Generous benefits package including fully paid medical, dental and vision coverage. AA/EOE.
