Full-Time Parent Education Lead

Provides general coordination and oversight of the Parent Education Program under direct supervision of the Program Supervisor.

Essential duties include; promoting the parent education program within the community through outreach, media, schools, etc. Organizing the scheduling of classes. Coordinating the enrollment process for classes. Setting up training for parent educators in conjunction with Supervisor. Providing support to the parent educators. Preparing routine reports in conjunction with Supervisor. Inventorying and submitting requisitions for instructional materials. Communicating via hot sheets, phone calls, etc. with social workers about attendance and progress of DSES clients. Preparing graduation certificates. Participating in Parent Education Partnership and Stakeholder meetings.  Assisting Supervisor in achieving contract and grant goals Coordinating with agencies subcontracted to provide additional parenting education classes in conjunction with Supervisor. Teaching parent education classes as needed. Providing clerical and other support to the Family Service Centers occasionally, as needed and other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include; a certificate in early childhood education and two years of experience in early childhood education or parent education, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. The Parent Education Program Lead will have demonstrated ability to work with members of the public. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent computer skills. Be able to multi-task. Be self-motivated. Be able to execute the high level administrative tasks required for leading the program. Bilingual required. A valid California Driver’s License and insurance are required.

Starting pay $3,248- $3,581 a month D.O.E. Additional 5% if Bilingual (E/S). Generous benefits package including dental and vision coverage. AA/EOE.
