Shelter Monitor – Casa de Noche Buena Shelter

Full time benefitted (weekdays) and part time (nights and weekends) positions at the new homeless shelter for women and families with children to open this winter in Seaside.  Shelter Monitors provide supervision of shelter guests, assist with shelter programming, maintain shelter schedules, document client activity and ensure a clean and safe environment at all times. Duties include attending to general safety and well-being of guests and facility, assisting with client check-in process, meal service, mail distribution and other shelter activities and programming, providing transportation to and from shelter using shelter van as needed, maintaining daily activity log, performing routine cleaning and sanitizing duties, contacting the Program Officer or designated staff in the event of guest or facility emergency, and other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications include problem solving skills, excellent communications skills, ability to take direction and work under general supervision, ability to work effectively under stress and conflict, flexibility to adapt to changing situations, ability to maintain boundaries with shelter guests, and ability to maintain guest confidentiality.  Starting salary $2,573-2,836/month, depending on experience. Excellent benefits for full time staff.  Additional 5% pay for bilingual/Spanish.  Bilingual preferred.
