Shelter Monitor – Homeless Youth Shelter, Safe Place

Provides overnight supervision of clients; ensures the general safety and well-being of clients; ensures the general security of the facility; and may assist staff in other areas of daily program functioning as designated by the Program Officer. Attends to the general safety and well-being of clients and facility. Collect client data for entry into HMIS. Coordinates meal time and recreational activities. Provides guidance and information/referral when appropriate. Contacts staff in the event of client or facility emergencies. Other duties assigned.
Qualifications: Shelter Monitor must be responsible and knowledgeable of program rules; must have demonstrated problem-solving skills and be able to assist staff in handling a variety of situations, including crisis situations; must be able to relate to persons of varied backgrounds and have enough knowledge trauma informed care and runaway and homeless youth to work supportively with other program staff; must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with young adults; must be available for overnights. Shelter Monitor is required to work within defined limits, subject to direct instruction.
Pay $14.33 per hour. Additional 5% bilingual stipend. AA/EOE.
