CHS Receives Grants Totaling More Than $59,000 From Monterey County Gives

Community Human Services (CHS) announced on March 3, 2021 that it has received a grant of $58,495 as a result of its participation in the 2020 Monterey County Gives! campaign.

Monterey County Gives! is a collaboration of the Monterey County Weekly, the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC), and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. This year the campaign raised $7.89 million to benefit 162 local nonprofits.

The CFMC Board of Directors also approved an additional grant of $1,000 to CHS representing the Florence Haspel Zeve Award for the 2020 Monterey County Gives! campaign. This award is given each year to the nonprofit organization that demonstrates leadership and ingenuity in the area impacting women, children, families, education and/or the arts, in honor of Florence Haspel Zeve.

“The continued success of the annual Monterey County Gives campaign has a significant impact for local nonprofits like CHS,” said the organization’s CEO Robin McCrae. “These funds will help to support a range of services that benefit not just the clients we serve on a daily basis, but the quality of life of the entire region. We’re grateful to the Weekly, the Community Foundation and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation for their ongoing commitment to this annual campaign.”
