Community Human Services is proud to be an active part of the Monterey County community. For more than 55 years, CHS has worked alongside local schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, businesses, public agencies, volunteers, and community members to support the health and wellbeing of our region.
Our work extends beyond the walls of our programs. Through community events, outreach initiatives, educational campaigns, volunteer opportunities, and collaborative partnerships, CHS helps raise awareness, reduce stigma, and connect people to support around mental health, substance use, and homelessness.
Bringing the Community Together

CHS hosts and participates in events that create space for connection, conversation, and collective impact. From Banding Together, our annual music festival focused on mental health, substance use, and homelessness awareness, to Souper Saturday, a collaborative fundraiser supporting homeless women and families, our events bring people together in support of dignity, hope, and healing.
These gatherings help introduce new audiences to CHS programs and services, elevate important community issues, and celebrate the partners, donors, volunteers, and advocates who make this work possible.
Outreach, Education, and Awareness

Throughout the year, CHS participates in community resource fairs, prevention education events, awareness campaigns, and outreach efforts across Monterey County. These efforts help connect individuals and families to services while encouraging open conversations about behavioral health, recovery, housing instability, and wellness.
CHS also recognizes national awareness months such as Mental Health Awareness Month, Alcohol Awareness Month, Recovery Month, and National Volunteer Month as opportunities to educate the community, reduce stigma, and remind people that help is available.
Recognizing Community Support

The work of CHS is made possible by the generosity and commitment of our community. Over the years, local donors, businesses, foundations, volunteers, and advocates have helped expand awareness, support critical services, and ensure that more people have access to compassionate care.
We are grateful for every partner who gives their time, voice, resources, and heart to this work.
If you have an event you would like CHS to table, please reach out to Communications Manager, Gabriella Schlesinger-James at GJames@CHServices.org.
