Leadership Team

Shawn leads Community Human Services as Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than a decade of experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, homelessness services, and nonprofit operations. His background includes program development, contracting, accreditation, compliance, and public-sector partnerships. He works with the Board and staff to strengthen accountable services that help Monterey County residents move toward stability, recovery, and independence.

Tim brings more than 25 years of finance and accounting experience to his role as Chief Financial Officer. His background includes nonprofit finance, consulting, technology finance, and telecommunications, with prior roles at Build Change, Navigant Consulting, Technology Finance Partners, and Verizon Business. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Rosie has supported CHS since 2014 and brings more than 20 years of experience in office management, bookkeeping, customer service, and human resources. A Watsonville native, she works closely with the CEO, COO, CFO, and Board of Directors to support agency operations, governance, and day-to-day administrative coordination.

Carol brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership and development experience to CHS. Her background includes 14 years with the American Cancer Society, where she led market operations, advanced patient navigation initiatives, built hospital partnerships, and supported major fundraising efforts. At CHS, she supports philanthropy, donor relationships, and partnerships that help sustain and expand the agency’s work.

Anab manages grants that support CHS programs across Monterey County. Raised in Monterey and trained at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, she brings experience in international development, public health communication, and equity-focused outreach in California and Sudan. Her work supports grant research, development, compliance, and funding strategy.

Lidia supports donor relations, events, and community engagement for CHS. She brings more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, including work with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey Jazz Festival, SPCA Monterey County, and San Francisco Zoo. She helps build meaningful connections with donors, supporters, and community partners.

Gabby leads communications for CHS, helping share the agency’s work with the Monterey County community. A CSU Monterey Bay and Middlebury Institute graduate, she brings experience in marketing, nonprofit communications, community engagement, and impact measurement, with past work supporting health and nonprofit projects locally and abroad.

Spencer leads human resources for CHS, with experience in employee relations, labor relations, compliance, workforce strategy, and multi-site operations. A UC Santa Barbara graduate and SHRM Certified Professional, she supports HR systems, advises leadership, and helps strengthen a professional, mission-focused workplace culture.

Miriam provides clinical leadership for Outpatient Mental Health. Born and raised in Salinas, she brings 13 years of clinical experience serving specialized populations. Her work is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care, cultural awareness, and support for clinicians providing high-quality mental health services to Monterey County residents.

Rebecca provides clinical leadership for CHS’s Family Service Centers. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Monterey County native, she brings more than a decade of community mental health experience. Her work includes clinical oversight, program development, and support for services that help individuals and families build resilience and stability.

Marta leads Substance Use Disorder Services and brings more than 20 years of experience in addiction treatment. She helped develop early treatment protocols for Monterey County Drug Court and has extensive experience in program management, nonprofit administration, outpatient treatment, residential services, and recovery housing.

Melissa leads Genesis House, bringing experience in residential and outpatient substance use disorder treatment. A certified CADC II, she also supports intake coordination and helps clients feel welcomed, informed, and supported as they begin treatment. Her work reflects a strong understanding of care across the recovery continuum.

Jessica oversees Off Main Clinic, bringing more than 15 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment and Medication-Assisted Treatment. A Salinas native, CADC-II, and Certified Medication-Assisted Treatment Specialist, she supports patient-centered care and long-term recovery through the clinic’s Narcotic Treatment Program.

Evangelina leads CHS’s homelessness and housing support programs, bringing deep experience in shelter operations, housing services, and regional collaboration. A Seaside native and CSU Monterey Bay graduate, she helped support the opening of Casa de Noche Buena and now provides leadership across CHS programs serving people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Flor leads operations at the SHARE Center and has been with Community Human Services since 2021. She brings experience across education, mental health, and homelessness services, with a focus on youth and young adults. Her work supports program operations, service coordination, and access to support for people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Elsa leads Casa de Noche Buena and has been with CHS since 2020. A CSU Monterey Bay graduate, she brings experience in social work, public administration, nonprofit management, and restorative justice. She helps guide shelter operations at the region’s first shelter dedicated to women and families, with a focus on safety, dignity, and practical support.
