Casa de Noche Buena Shelter

Program Description Casa de Noche Buena (CDNB) in Seaside is the first homeless shelter specifically for women and families with children on the Monterey Peninsula. Operated by Community Human Services in partnership with Gathering for Women – Monterey, the shelter can accommodate up to 35 guests. It offers shelter, meals, and supportive services aimed at achieving permanent housing. Guests may keep their belongings onsite during their stay.

Casa de Noche Buena (CDNB) is a low-barrier emergency shelter for single women and families with children. Length of stay is limited to 90 days. Stays may be extended for up to 6 months total with appropriate justification. Case Managers work with guests to set and achieve their personal goals for housing, income, employment, education, and other areas that support a successful exit from homelessness. Housing navigation, employment assistance, life skills education, referral to ancillary services, and other assistance is available. Children-specific activities include tutoring and homework help, as well as arts and crafts, games, books, movies, TV shows, story time, outdoor play area, etc. Amenities include meals, full baths, laundry, mail service, computers, and internet access. Guests are assigned a room for their stay and may leave their belongings in their room. Women may share a double room. Families will have their own room. Cribs or toddler beds are available upon request.
