Community Foundation for Monterey County Awards Safe Place with $40,000 Grant

SALINAS-MONTEREY CA, July 26, 2016: Community Human Services recently received a $40,000 grant from Community Foundation for Monterey County to help fund a permanent emergency shelter at Safe Place, our comprehensive program for homeless and runaway youth. Safe Place provides youth with everything from street outreach, survival aid, and temporary shelter to counseling, reunification and aftercare.

The Community Foundation for Monterey County inspires philanthropy and is a catalyst for strengthening communities throughout Monterey County. Since 1969, Community Human Services has provided professional, affordable mental health, substance abuse counseling and homeless services to the residents of Monterey County. These services focus on the entire family and include programs for people of all ages.
