In honor of National Recovery Month, Community Human Services hosted their annual “BBQ’s for Recovery.” On September 7th, Genesis House  held “Cookin’ for Recovery” at the Good Samaritan Center in Sand City. Attendees enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans and dessert. Live entertainment was provided and information on CHS recovery options was made available.

On September 22nd, Off Main Clinic held their annual event, “Lunch at the Train Station.” Over 200 people enjoyed a BBQ lunch of chili dogs, potato salad, and a farm fresh garden salad courtesy of Earthbound Farm Organics. This year, CHS partnered with Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas and Access Support Network to provide free on site medical and dental care, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis testing. A small resource fair was organized, promoting local recovery options and provided information on all CHS programs and services.

Thank you to our local partners, staff and volunteers for their continued support in building connections in our community and enhancing the lives of those we support.
