Your Legacy Can Help Build a Stronger Monterey County

A gift in your will or estate plan can help ensure that people in Monterey County continue to have somewhere to turn for care, recovery, shelter, housing support, and a path toward greater stability for generations to come.

Including Community Human Services in your future plans can be simple. You can leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or name CHS as a beneficiary of an existing account.

Your plans remain yours. You can provide for the people you care about first, change your gift in the future, and choose whether or not to tell CHS about your intentions.

Simple Ways to Leave a Legacy

Include CHS in Your Will or Trust

You can leave Community Human Services a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or all or part of what remains after gifts to your loved ones and others have been made.

Your attorney or estate-planning professional can help you determine the approach that is right for you.

Name CHS as a Beneficiary

You may be able to name Community Human Services as a beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, or other account that allows beneficiary designations.

Your plan administrator, financial institution, or insurance provider can help you add or update a beneficiary.

Have You Already Included CHS in Your Plans?

Thank you for making Community Human Services part of your legacy in Monterey County.

If you have already included CHS in your will, trust, beneficiary designation, or other estate plans, thank you. We would be grateful if you would let us know.

You do not need to tell us the amount of your gift, and letting us know does not create a binding commitment or prevent you from changing your plans in the future.

Sharing your plans gives us an opportunity to thank you and keep you connected to the work your future gift will support.

Let Carol Know

The CHS Legacy Circle

Donors who let us know that Community Human Services is included in their future plans are invited to become members of the CHS Legacy Circle.

There is no minimum gift amount. The Legacy Circle is our way of recognizing and thanking those who have chosen to make CHS part of their legacy.

Recognition is always optional. Donors who prefer to remain anonymous are welcome to do so.

Legacy Circle members will also receive periodic updates and invitations that help them stay connected to CHS and the impact of their future support.
