JOB SUMMARY: Facilitates the visitation process of families that have been separated for various reasons and referred by the Family Court System.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Assists in the maintenance of a smooth running center.
  • Keeps the Program Officer informed of all pertinent issues and problem areas.
  • Oversees the appropriate scheduling of clients.
  • Monitor and documents all interaction between child (ren) and visiting parties.
  • Ensures the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Avoids taking sides with either party.
  • Assesses and collects fees.
  • Monitors and enforces that all involved parties follow the Supervised Visitation guidelines.
  • Intervenes on all inappropriate behavior and any deviation of guidelines immediately.
  • Acts as a role model for parents, providing support, guidance and appropriate referrals as needed or requested.
  • Prepares reports to the court as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Maturity, good judgment, dependability, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential in this position, as is respect for clients and maintenance of client confidentiality.
  • A minimum of 2 years of coursework in Early Childhood Development or related field and 2 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful candidates for this position will be required to complete all training required California’s Rules of Court, Judicial Administration Standard 5.20.
  • A valid California driver’s license may be required. 
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Physical, mental and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to write, use the telephone, computer, calculator and office machines at required speed and accuracy
  • Vision sufficient to read handwritten and printed materials and the display screen of various office equipment and machines
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate in person and hold telephone conversations in the normal range;
  • Speaking ability in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversational distances on the telephone and addressing groups
  • Physical stamina sufficient to sustain light to medium physical labor for up to 8 hours, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment for sustained periods of time on hard flooring, climb slopes, stairs, ramps and to respond to emergency situations
  • Physical strength sufficient to periodically lift, carry, push and/or pull 40 pounds of materials or supplies; occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull more than 40 pounds with assistance
Salary $25.17 – $30.60 per hour D.O.E. Additional 5% if bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
